{"id":3082,"date":"2022-11-03T11:09:05","date_gmt":"2022-11-03T11:09:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/?p=3082"},"modified":"2022-11-03T11:09:05","modified_gmt":"2022-11-03T11:09:05","slug":"well-digger-who-escaped-death-plead-for-medical-help","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=3082","title":{"rendered":"WELL DIGGER WHO ESCAPED DEATH PLEAD FOR MEDICAL HELP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><code>DENIS CHAGALA, KAKAMEGA<\/code><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A family of a man in\nLurambi constituency Kakamega County who a bucket full of sand fell on while\ndrilling a borehole is in dire help from well-wishers and good Samaritans to\nenable them to cater for their kin\u2019s hospital bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heavily loaded\nbucket hit the head of the 32-year-old Eliund Mangula, after the rope tied to\nthe basket got off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I was in the\ncompany of my friend that fateful day, while inside the hole, I was to fill the\nbucket with sand and later signal my partner who was on the upper side to pull\nit&#8221;, He said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Little did Mangula\nknow the rope had loosened, he filled the bucket with sand and signalled his\nfriend on top to pull it. At the time of the accident, the duo had dug the hole\nmore than 60 feet deep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><code>\"Unfortunately, the rope we used to pull the bucket of sand loosened, the bucket fell and hit me on the head, its impact broke my backbone along with several other bones,\" He recalled.<\/code><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, his family&#8217;s\nefforts to take him to various hospitals for treatment have been in vain as\nthey have since lacked money to pay for his treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We took him to\nKakamega General Hospital where he was referred to Eldoret Moi teaching and\nreferral hospital, We were required to pay 100,000 shillings before any medication\nwas administered to him, an amount we are unable to raise&#8221;, said Eunice\nMangula, wife to Eliud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, the family\nis asking for help from well-wishers and good Samaritans to intervene to rescue\nthem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We highly depend on Eliud for our daily upkeep, we have tried to raise the stipulated amount of money by selling some of our belongings but all has been in vain.
