A 24-year-old woman from Manyatta\nvillage, Malava Constituency, Kakamega County is living in fear of being chased\naway from her matrimonial home in the pretext of giving birth to physically\nchallenged kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The troubles of Snaida Khalenya\nbegan way back in 2016 after her parents were unable to pay her school fees\nforcing her to drop out of school while in class 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall in love\u00a0<\/code><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2017, as Snaida was serving as a\nhouse girl she got to know one bodaboda guy, Wycliffe Chisikha who used to pick\nand drop her boss’ kids to and from school. Little did she know the two will\none day fall in love and later become a wife and a husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since Chisikha was the only son to his parents, pressure mounted, her mum demanded for a 'normal' grandchild.\u00a0 <\/code><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“Things happened so fast, we\ngot our first daughter Valentine Atamba who grew up as a normal child, however\nI didn’t understand why she took too long to stand”, Said Snaida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conceive again.<\/code><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One year later Snaida conceived and\ngave birth to their 2nd daughter Joylyne Matsitsa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“She grew up just like any\nother child. Like her sister she too took time to stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I tried to take them to various\nhospitals for check ups but doctors couldn’t find any problem” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“She has occasionally\nthreatened to kill me if I fail to leave his son alone. She has severely chased\nme out of her compound, I thank my husband for always being there for me”,\nShe added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"I have been to Kwadeka hospital in Malava where doctors said that their bones were weak, they demanded more than 2,000 shillings a day, an amount I am unable to raise,\" she added. <\/code><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Khalenya’s efforts of finding\nanswers to unravel the mystery facing her 2 daughters by visiting various\nmedical centers with the desire to see her daughter walk has been fertile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She failed to raise 2,000 shillings\ndemanded by the hospital to allow the experts to conduct a therapy for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I have been to Kwadeka hospital\nin Malava where doctors said that their bones were weak, they demanded more\nthan 2,000 shillings a day, an amount I am unable to raise,” She added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My family depends on this\nhired bodaboda for their upkeep, my wife is jobless” Said Chisikha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family is now pleading for\nfinancial help from well-wishers and good samaritans that will enable them to\ntake their daughters for a therapy which will enable them to stand and walk one\nday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m afraid to get pregnant\nagain, I might give birth to a kid with the same problems”, She said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
