Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate has rejected the\nresults of the presidential race as announced by the Independent Electoral and\nBoundaries Commission (IEBC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raila while addressing his supporters at the Kenyatta\nInternational Convention Centre (KICC) said IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati\nacted in disregard to the constitution and laws of Kenya in declaring Ruto as\nPresident Elect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFigures announced by Chebukati are null and void and must\nbe quashed by a court of law. In our view there is neither a legally validated winner\nor a President Elect. Chebukati acted with gross impunity and could have\nplunged our country into chaos, our supporters just acted in restrain,\u201d said\nRaila <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said they have rejected the results that were announced\nby the commission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raila said they are pursuing the legal channels to\ninvalidate the announcement of Ruto as President Elect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He commended the four IEBC commissioners who staged a\nprotest and disowned the results announced by Chebukati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chebukati said DP Ruto garnered 7.17 million votes against\nRaila\u2019s  6.94million votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tour IEBC commissioners who disowned the results are Juliana Cherera (Vice\nChairman), Francis Wanderi, Justus Nyang’aya and Irene Masit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said the results announced did not have the total valid votes cast to\nsupport the percentages Chebukati announced that each of the candidates had\nscored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
