A 2017 gubernatorial hopeful has declared that he is in full\nsupport of Fernandes Barasa to succeed Wycliffe Oparanya as Kakamega governor\nin the August polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, he said that former Ikolomani MP Dr Boni\nKhalwale will be the next senator of Kakamega county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robinson Abuyeka<\/code><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Robinson Abuyeka who had declared his interest to vie for\nthe Kakamega governorship seat in 2017 but later shelved his ambitions said\nthat Mr Barasa and Khalwale are best suited to take over the leadership of the\ncounty after the exit of Mr Oparanya, the outgoing governor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wish to declare my unconditional support to the Kakamega\nODM governor candidate Fernandes Barasa. After numerous meet the people events\nand unbiased consultations with real voters, we have concluded that he is the\nmost suitable leader to become the next governor of Kakamega County as from\nAugust 9, 2022,\u201d posted Abuyeka on his Facebook account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uncle Robin (left)<\/code><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Abuyeka alias Uncle Robin believes that a vote for Barasa is\na vote for progress. \u201cGovernor ni Barasa, Form in Manager leader,\u201d. Abuyeka\nshelved his gubernatorial ambitions in March this year,\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Khalwale, the UDA senatorial candidate, he said that he\nis best suited for the job owing to the fact that during his stint as area\nsenator, he kept Oparanya\u2019s administration on checks and balances to realise\nthe current development in the county that speaks for itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe best candidate for the position of Kakamega senator,\n2022 is Boni Khalwale my brother. Asante owefu. A vote for Khalwale is a vote\nfor accountability and visionary leadership. Senator ni Khalwale,\u2019 he said<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other candidates in the gubernatorial race are Cleophas\nMalala (ANC), Cyrus Jirongo (UDP), Suleiman Sumba (Kanu), Samuel\nOmukoko (MDP), Michael Osundwa and Austine Opitso (independents). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the senate seat, Dr Brian Lishenga (ODM) and Sammy Aina\nare also on the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
