{"id":206,"date":"2020-01-10T13:56:57","date_gmt":"2020-01-10T13:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/?p=206"},"modified":"2020-01-10T13:56:57","modified_gmt":"2020-01-10T13:56:57","slug":"k24-news-anchor-anjlee-gadhvi-succumbs-to-liver-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=206","title":{"rendered":"K24 News Anchor Anjlee Gadhvi succumbs to Liver Cancer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Andrew Ombuni<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The celebrated K24 News Anchor Anjlee Gadhvi is dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ms Anjlee died on January 10, while undergoing treatment at the Aga Khan\nhospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She had been battling liver cancer since 2013 but went public about the\ndisease in 2015 after her treatment drained her all her savings and funds\nraised by her relatives and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her death was confirmed by K24 head of TV and Digital at Mediamax Limited,\nPeter Opondo through his twitter account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Opondo remembered her for ever being a jovial person even when she was\ngoing through the painful cancer treatments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOh my friend <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AnjleeGadhvi\">@AnjleeGadhvi<\/a> You fought that cancer beast\nwith all your might. You did it for your kids, husband. Never lost hope. You\nalways smiled through the pain &amp; insisted on coming to work even at your\nweakest points. We believed you were winning&#8230;until now! RIP my friend,\u201d read\nOpondo\u2019s post on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last year after spending two weeks in India undergoing treatment, the late Anjlee\nposted on her twitter account on August 12, her tribulations while in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She tweeted: \u201cI don\u2019t know whether I should be sharing this clip or not. But\nsince cancer is the discussion I think it\u2019s important to share how I find it\nhard to explain to my 5-year-old why I have to leave her for 2 weeks to seek\nspecialised treatment out of the country,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She also tweeted : \u201cI had an intense CyberKnife treatment early February\nthis year. The area treated was large, hence the recovery period took time. The\nbody and disease has responded to this form of treatment and I had to finish\nwhat was left. Praying done and over!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CyberKnife System, is a radiation therapy device that is used to deliver\nradiosurgery for the treatment of benign tumors, malignant tumours, and other\nmedical conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her colleagues in the Media industry led by Glady\u2019s Gachanja posted : \u201cOh\nmy! My condolences. She fought bravely. May she rest in peace and may her\ncourage give others hope,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Caroline Bii posted : \u201cRest with the angels Anjlee Gadhvi. You were such a\nresilient warrior.
