{"id":1676,"date":"2021-03-31T19:04:09","date_gmt":"2021-03-31T19:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/?p=1676"},"modified":"2021-03-31T19:04:09","modified_gmt":"2021-03-31T19:04:09","slug":"shell-petrol-retail-stations-in-western-region-in-compliance-with-covid19-protocols","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=1676","title":{"rendered":"Shell Petrol Retail Stations in Western region in compliance with Covid19 protocols"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kakamega<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Seliphar Musungu<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The country on Tuesday recorded 1,412 new infections of Covid19 with 6\ndeaths being reported in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new infections brings the total number of Kenyans who have been infected\nwith the virus to 134, 048 with over 2000 deaths having been reported since the\nCovid19 pandemic was first reported in the country a year ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Health Administrative Secretary Dr Mercy Mwangangi, the\npositivity rate stands at 15 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Mwangangi said of the cases reported, Nairobi County is the epicenter of\nthe virus with 61,851 cases having been reported by Mombasa 9,915, Kiambu 8,829\nand Kajiado 3,863.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0053.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1678\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0053.jpg 750w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0053-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0053-696x928.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The total number of Covid19 infections across the country stands at 132,632 with\n98 per cent being that of the locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the surging numbers of new infections occasioned by Covid19 pandemic,\ngovernment agencies and the private sector have put in place elaborate measures\naimed at safeguarding their employees from contracting the deadly virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shell Petrol Retail Stations in Western region are among corporate entities\nthat have put in place elaborate measures to put the disease at bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The efforts have been put in place by the region\u2019s Chief Executive Officer\n(CEO) Benard Barasa who has ensured that all his employees have been supplied\nCovid19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) against the virus. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0030-1024x768.jpg?v=1617217377\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1679\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0030-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0030-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0030-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0030-696x522.jpg 696w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG-20210330-WA0030.jpg 1040w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Barasa said all his staff at Kakamega, Busia, Kitale and Mbale Shell\nPetrol stations are adequately equipped in order to curb the spread of the virus,\nsaying even motorists coming to fuel at the stations must be on a mask for the\nto be served by the pump attendants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe want to remind Kenyans to take extra precautions to protect themselves, their\nfamilies and their loved ones. The disease is real going by the statistics we\nare getting from the Ministry of Health.
