{"id":1567,"date":"2021-02-18T12:21:44","date_gmt":"2021-02-18T12:21:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/?p=1567"},"modified":"2021-02-18T12:21:44","modified_gmt":"2021-02-18T12:21:44","slug":"odm-elections-board-register-by-gives-march-31-to-become-bonafide-odm-member","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=1567","title":{"rendered":"ODM Elections Board: Register by gives March 31 to become bonafide ODM member"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kakamega<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Selipahr Musungu<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone seeking an elective seat on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) who\nwill not have registered as party members by 31<sup>st<\/sup> March this year\nwill be locked out of the party grassroots elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><em> &#8220;If you are not a registered member of ODM party you won&#8217;t be allowed to  vote, vie or participate in ODM elections,&#8221; said Ms Mumma <\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Orange party National Election Board boss Catherine Mumma said the move\nhas been taken to avert chaotic primaries, as it has been the case in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"534\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/file7ejtbz1gq8lrvz4mk37.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1568\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/file7ejtbz1gq8lrvz4mk37.jpg 534w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/file7ejtbz1gq8lrvz4mk37-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 534px) 100vw, 534px\" \/><figcaption> <strong><em>ODM National Election Board Chairperson Catherine Mumma <\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ms. Mumma who was addressing the media in Kakamega said after meeting regional\nparty officials, said that they also be having ODM mass registration of their members\nahead of the 2022 polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ms Mumma urged all the members of ODM and those who would\nlike to join ODM party to register and become a member before the grassroots\nelections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ms Mumma said that by registering as an ODM member, one will\nbe able to get a chance to participate in all ODM elections for various\npositions and also to be among the candidates vying for various positions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;If you are not a registered member of ODM party you won&#8217;t be allowed to vote, vie or participate in ODM elections,&#8221; said Ms Mumma<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mumma said that those who would like to vie for the\npresidential post according to the part structures they are should apply to the\nboard by February 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;To those who will like to register as members of ODM, we\nwelcome you people to the party. You can dial *1483*036# using your phone or\nsend your ID number to 22732 and you will be registered or use email join.odm.co.ke\nor visit our website www.odmmembership.com.&#8221; Mumma said <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She added that as party they want to elect people who are\ncompetent and ready to represent the party during the elections <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We are doing the registration early since we don&#8217;t want to be caught up with time when the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will be calling in for the nomination of delegates,&#8221; Mumma said <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She condemned those saying that the party has already\nelected a particular person for the presidency sit.
