Today, the Oncology Department at Bungoma County Referral Hospital hosted a special Day Care for cancer patients, survivors and their caregivers, providing an opportunity to interact, encourage one another and share inspiring stories of hope, courage and resilience.<\/p>\n

\nPatients shared heartfelt testimonies about their cancer journeys, celebrating the progress they have made through treatment while also speaking candidly about the financial challenges associated with cancer care, including the cost of treatment, transport and regular follow-up visits.<\/p>\n

One of the inspiring testimonies came from Mr. David Nyongesa, who said:
\n“When I first came to the Oncology Unit at Bungoma County Referral Hospital, I weighed only 35 kilograms. Through chemotherapy, palliative care and the dedicated follow-up by the medical team, I now weigh 55 kilograms and I am doing much better.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

His story is a powerful reminder that with timely treatment, quality care and unwavering support, there is hope.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the event, one of the department’s supportive partners, Mr. Johnson Wangamati, encouraged patients to remain hopeful and stay committed to their treatment journey.<\/p>\n

He also applauded the hospital management, healthcare workers and all supporting partners whose collaboration made the Day Care a success, emphasizing that partnerships play a vital role in improving the lives of people living with cancer.<\/p>\n

Bungoma County Referral Hospital remains committed to walking this journey with every cancer patient by providing compassionate, patient-centred care and continuous support throughout treatment and recovery.<\/p>\n

The event also featured a blood donation drive, where members of the public and hospital staff generously donated blood to help save lives and support patients in need of blood transfusions.<\/p>\n

Together, we continue to raise awareness, inspire hope and remind everyone that no one should face cancer alone.<\/p>\n
