An Amagoro widow has raised alarm over alleged threats from her son-in-law, whom she accuses of attempting to forcefully take over three plots she says she legally purchased.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at her Angololo residence in Amagoro Sub-location on Tuesday, Fidelia Achomo Ojuma said the strained relationship between her and her son-in-law began in 2023 when he allegedly started pressuring her to surrender two plots at Kamolo Junction and another at Awaat.<\/p>\n

\u201cI bought the three plots using the pension proceeds of my late husband, and I possess title deeds confirming that I am the bona fide owner of the properties,\u201d said Fidelia emotionally.<\/p>\n

The widow stated that she purchased the two plots at Kamolo Junction for a total of Ksh300,000 and the Awaat plot for Ksh270,000.<\/p>\n

According to Fidelia, the dispute stems from claims by her son-in-law that he once loaned her first born daughter Ksh130,000 to boost her mitumba business.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter confirmed that they refunded Ksh70,000 first and later cleared the remaining Ksh60,000 after selling their cow and calf,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

Fidelia alleged that her son-in-law now wants to use his position in the disciplined forces to grab her investments, adding that both she and her daughter are living in fear.<\/p>\n

She appealed to security agencies to intervene and provide protection.
\nThe widow, who has six children, said she had initially supported her daughter financially after marriage in 2010.<\/p>\n

\u201cI gave my daughter Ksh40,000 as start-up capital after she completed her O-levels. I personally travelled to Webuye to buy mitumba stock and delivered it to her because both of them were unemployed at the time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She added that the problems only started after her son-in-law secured employment.
\n\u201cBefore then, they lived peacefully. Several suspicious visits to my residence forced me to report the matter to the police,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n

Fidelia commended the assistance she has received from the Deputy County Commissioner Solomon Kitai, OCPD Charles Chepkong\u2019a, and the OCS, who she said helped ensure her statements were recorded.<\/p>\n
