Teachers in Bungoma County are threatening to go on strike over growing concerns about their medical cover.<\/p>\n

Speaking at Bungoma airstrip, Bungoma KUPPET Secretary General, Augustine Luketelo, said the situation has become unbearable for many teachers, citing serious challenges in accessing proper healthcare services.<\/p>\n

He added that Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers are also affected by the same challenges within the sector.<\/p>\n

Luketelo noted that the crisis has pushed some educators to seek alternative treatment, warning that urgent intervention is needed to safeguard the welfare of teachers.<\/p>\n

He further confirmed that teachers are now planning to down their tools if their concerns are not addressed in time.<\/p>\n

The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) is now calling on the government and relevant stakeholders to act swiftly to ensure teachers, including those in JSS, receive reliable and quality medical services.<\/p>\n
