A 50-year-old man from Okuleu Location in Malaba North Ward has left residents of Amagoro in shock after demonstrating his rare ability to lick his own nose \u2014 a feat he now believes could earn him a place in the Guinness World Records.<\/p>\n

Hannan Mathew Omunyin amazed onlookers on Monday when he stretched his unusually long tongue upward to touch his nose, a gesture many residents described as unbelievable.<\/p>\n

\u201cI first tried to lick my nose at the age of 15, and surprisingly it worked,\u201d Omunyin said. \u201cI had never seen or heard of a human being who could do it. For doubting Thomases, I invite them to visit my home in Okuleu and confirm for themselves that I deserve recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n

He compared his ability to other record-breaking stunts.
\n\u201cIf someone can enter history books by hugging a tree for 72 hours, then I also deserve recognition,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Omunyin noted that many people associate long tongues with livestock such as cows, not humans. He thanked God for what he described as a unique gift that could potentially make him a celebrity.<\/p>\n

Following the unusual display, he said admirers have rewarded him with cash tokens ranging from Ksh50 to Ksh500.<\/p>\n

Area resident Mzee Mike Osukuku described the incident as astonishing.
\n\u201cI never believed a human being could lick his own nose. I thought only cows could do that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Why Some People Can Lick Their Nose<\/p>\n

Experts say the ability to lick one\u2019s nose depends on several physical factors, including:
\nLonger-than-average tongue length
\nHigh tongue and jaw flexibility
\nShort distance between the upper lip and the nose
\nIn most cases, it is simply a harmless physical variation \u2014 similar to being double-jointed \u2014 and not a medical condition.<\/p>\n

Unless accompanied by discomfort or other symptoms, it does not pose a health concern.
\nWhile certain connective tissue disorders can increase flexibility, nose-licking alone is not considered a medical issue.<\/p>\n
