{"id":1144,"date":"2020-10-08T12:08:26","date_gmt":"2020-10-08T12:08:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/?p=1144"},"modified":"2020-10-08T12:08:26","modified_gmt":"2020-10-08T12:08:26","slug":"bungoma-west-hospital-gets-iso-certification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=1144","title":{"rendered":"Bungoma West Hospital gets ISO certification"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Chris Mafura <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bungoma <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was pomp and colour as Bungoma\nWest Hospital celebrated the achievement of their ISO: 15189 certification of\ntheir laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event, which took place at the\nhospital&#8217;s conference hall in Kanduyi, saw the Hospital management and staff\nhave a rare glimpse of the coveted document that was awarded to them in July\nthis year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG_20201007_131515-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1145\"\/><figcaption><strong><em>Bungoma West Hospital celebrating ISO certification <\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking during the colourful fete,\nHospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Jacob Wanyama expressed his joy for\nmarking such a wonderful milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I&#8217;m happy to be associated\nwith this magnanimous achievement to not only be a third accredited laboratory\nin Bungoma County but also the first private laboratory in the County to attain\nISO:15189 certification,&#8221; said Dr Wanyama.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CEO hailed the staff for their\ntremendous work, saying that the certification is a reward for their\ncompetence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG_20201007_131734_1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1146\"\/><figcaption> <strong><em>Bungoma West Hospital celebrating ISO certification <\/em><\/strong> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The award of this certificate\nmeans that our laboratory has met all the requirements as stipulated in the\nstandards, hence this shows that our laboratory officers are competent and the\nresults produced in our lab are of high quality and meet international\nstandards.&#8221; he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laboratory director Delia Wanyama\ntoo applauded the staff and the management for the achievement, challenging\nother departments to emulate the feted unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;My hope is that all staff will\nnow emulate this relentless service and persistence to significantly improve\nhealth services delivery as required by the ISO standards,&#8221; said\nDelia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hospital promises to give\nquality services to the customers and make the hospital the most preferred\nfacility for health services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG_20201007_131546-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1147\"\/><figcaption> <strong><em>Bungoma West Hospital celebrating ISO certification <\/em><\/strong> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bungoma West Hospital became the\nthird health facility in Bungoma County to acquire the ISO 15189 certification\nafter the Webuye and the Bungoma County Referral Hospitals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ISO certification is a standard\nrequirement for competence and quality of a laboratory.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The eleven year-old hospital now\nbecomes the only private facility in Bungoma County to have such a\ncertification.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This comes at a time when brands and\norganisations are celebrating the Happy Customers Week, a week set aside for\nthe country to appreciate their customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Present at the gala were Hospital\nboard of management, staff as well as a few customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ends<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Chris Mafura Bungoma It was pomp and colour as Bungoma West Hospital celebrated the achievement of their ISO: 15189 certification of their laboratory.
