{"id":1123,"date":"2020-09-21T09:52:18","date_gmt":"2020-09-21T09:52:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/countysplash.co.ke\/?p=1123"},"modified":"2020-09-21T09:52:18","modified_gmt":"2020-09-21T09:52:18","slug":"kakamega-man-slits-grandmothers-throat-as-another-kills-wife-hangs-himself","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/?p=1123","title":{"rendered":"Kakamega man slits grandmother\u2019s throat as another kills wife, hangs himself"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Michelle Nyambura<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kakamega<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A somber mood Malekha village in Malava Sub County after a\n40-year old man hacked his wife to death and later committed suicide by setting\ntheir matrimonial house a blaze on Sunday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paul Shivachi, 40, is alleged to have killed his wife, Rael\nShivachi, 35, at their home before setting the house on fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/police.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1124\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/police.jpg 600w, https:\/\/horizonnews.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/police-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two are said to have migrated to the area a week ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the police, neighbours noticed a huge fire coming\nfrom their house around 2am and rushed to the scene to rescue them, upon breaking\ninto the house, they found the lifeless body of his wife in the living room\nwhile Mr. Shivachi had committed suicide by hanging himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Malava Deputy Sub County Police Commander, Gilbert Marie,\nconfirmed the incident saying the charred remains of the two are being\npreserved at the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Still in Malava, another suspect Peter Manyuru, 26, killed\nhis 84-year-old grandmother, Roselidah Ngao, following a domestic brawl on\nSeptember 20, this year.
