Bungoma Governor Kenneth Makelo Lusaka has reaffirmed his administration\u2019s commitment to uplifting persons living with disabilities, as the county rolled out the fourth phase of wheelchair distribution in partnership with the Walkabout Foundation.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the launch event, where 100 new wheelchairs were handed out, Lusaka described the day as \u201ca day of dignity\u2026 a day of renewed hope.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery resident of Bungoma County matters, every dream is valid, and mobility is a right\u2014not a privilege,\u201d he said, emphasizing the county\u2019s continued efforts toward inclusion.<\/p>\n
The governor revealed that the county, working closely with partners, has so far distributed 420 wheelchairs across Bungoma.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is not just a number. It is 420 lives lifted, 420 families supported, and 420 futures unlocked,\u201d Lusaka noted.<\/p>\n
He urged beneficiaries to make full use of their new mobility devices to pursue education, employment, enterprise, and active community life.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese chairs are more than devices; they are instruments of freedom. Go to school, go to work, visit your neighbors, build your businesses and pursue your dreams. Your governor believes in you,\u201d he told the recipients.<\/p>\n

Lusaka thanked the Walkabout Foundation for its dedication, saying their contribution was \u201crestoring dignity and strengthening communities.\u201d He also praised the County Special Programs Directorate for ensuring that support consistently reaches those who need it most.<\/p>\n
The governor reiterated that his administration will continue championing the empowerment of persons with disabilities, saying Bungoma is committed to becoming a county where \u201cno one is left behind.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do not see disability as inability. We see resilience, power, and potential,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He called on stakeholders to remain united, adding that the county is already making visible strides toward a more inclusive society.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we stand together\u2014government, partners, and communities\u2014there is no limit to what we can achieve,\u201d Lusaka stated.<\/p>\n
