Police officers alleged to be from the Directorate of\nCriminal Investigations (DCI) raided the homes of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala\nat 3am today and that of Bomet Senator Dr Christopher Langat at 10pm on Sunday\ndemanding to arrest them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The officers led by an inspector Dominic Muli said that they\nhad been send by Pius Gitahi from the Special Unit to arrest the senators.<\/p>\n\n\n\nKakamega Senator Cleophas Malala<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Senator Malala could be seen from his house window demanding\nto know why they want to arrest him at that ungodly hour in a video that is\nmaking rounds on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inscetor Omondi could be heard telling Malala to call DCI\nboss George Kinoti to confirm that they had been send to arrest him but Malala\nsaid he doesn\u2019t have Kinoti\u2019s number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By 8.30am when going to the press Mr Malala was stilled\nlocked in his house as the officers were also still in the compound baying for\nhis blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\nDr Chris Lang’at- Bomet Senator<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
The Dr Lang’at\u2019s home in Nyayo Estate Embakasi was the first to be raided at 10pm, forcing fellow senators to come to his rescue. The officers however held their ground, and by the time of going to press, they were surrounding his house. This according to Kahawa Tungu,an online news site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking through the window of his house, Senator Langat held that he would\nnot go anywhere till morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen yesterday alleged\nthat the government was trying to intimidate the senators who were opposed to\nthe passage of the finance bill currently at the senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the senators who have opposed the Commission for\nRevenue Allocation (CRA) formula despite their counties gaining include Mithika\nLinturi (Meru), Christopher Langat (Bomet), Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho),\nKipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Cleophas Malala (Kakamega).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
