<\/p>\nMasinde Muliro Kanduyi Stadium is on track for completion by December, according to Sports Principal Secretary (PS) Elija Mwangi, who today joined Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka for an assessment of the ongoing Phase Two construction works.<\/p>\n
The high-level inspection visit brought together officials from the National Government, County Government and the Department of Public Works. The stadium, currently at 94 percent completion with roofing works ongoing, is expected to significantly boost sports development and talent nurturing in the region once operational.<\/p>\n

Addressing Members of the Press,after inspecting the facility, Governor Lusaka voiced dissatisfaction with the pace of works, urging the contractor to speed up delivery to avoid further delays.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe appreciate progress made so far, but the pace remains slow. We want this stadium completed and opened for use without any further excuses,\u201d said Governor Lusaka.<\/p>\n
The Governor emphasized the need for accountability and timely execution of the project, noting the importance of the facility in promoting local sporting activities and enhancing economic growth.<\/p>\n
On his part, PS Mwangi reiterated the government\u2019s commitment to ensuring the stadium is delivered on schedule and meets the required standards.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are confident that the contractor will complete the works by December. We will be conducting regular assessments to ensure timelines are met and quality standards upheld,\u201d stated PS Mwangi.<\/p>\n
He further underscored that no compromise will be allowed on workmanship, and continuous monitoring will ensure \u201cno stone is left unturned.\u201d<\/p>\n
