Governor Kenneth Lusaka has rallied residents of Trans Nzoia County to support President William Ruto’s re-election in 2027, citing ongoing and planned development projects as a foundation for accelerated growth in the Western region.
Speaking during Palm Sunday service at St. Agnes Chebarus Catholic Church in Cherengany,Trans Nzoia County, Lusaka urged the county to align with the national government to fully benefit from the President’s transformative agenda.

The governor highlighted key infrastructure projects including the Rironi–Mau Summit–Malaba dual carriageway, the Standard Gauge Railway line passing through Naivasha – Kisumu -Vihiga- Kakamega -Bungoma (Mianga in Bumula) and Busia (Malaba), expanded road networks, and the affordable housing programme.
“These projects demonstrate the President’s commitment to opening up the Western region and delivering on his promises. A second term will ensure full realization of this development agenda,” Lusaka said.

Lusaka emphasized the need for unity among leaders across the region, calling for closer collaboration to enhance development outcomes.
“As a region, we must work together and speak with one voice. Trans Nzoia must not be left behind; it should actively collaborate with the national government and neighbouring counties to optimize development,” he stated.
The governor, who serves as President Ruto’s Western region 2027 re-election coordinator, dismissed the opposition as lacking a clear strategy to unseat the incumbent, urging the region to organize early and strengthen its bargaining power ahead of the 2027 General Election. He maintained that supporting President Ruto’s re-election would guarantee sustained development and economic progress.

The service was attended by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, presidential aide Farouk Kibet, and hosted by Susan Nakhumicha, alongside other leaders. The leaders jointly contributed funds towards the expansion of the church project.
