Kabuchai Mp Majimbo Kalasinga has called on the national government through the ministry of education to endorse autonomy in Junior secondary schools for their independence.
“Allow JSS to be on its own, NG-CDF money to be used to build classes and buy land for schools”, the MP stated.
Speaking during the Annual General Meeting and awarding of the top 2025 KCSE students at St Peters Chemwa senior secondary school, the legislature urged stakeholders in the education sector through TSC to employ JSS teachers on permanent and pensionable terms.
He directed the school principals to cooperate with parents on fee payment and make sure students are always in class to ease their studies in class giving out excellent results.
“Education is the basic unit and future to our children let’s embrace it” he advised parents.

Following KUPPET Executive Secretary’s Augustine Luketelo decrying on matters Comprehensive medical cover for teachers in the county, Majimbo stated that teachers in the country are going through a lot of challenges to get the services in health facilities because Social Health Authority (SHA) insurance is not working at all.
“Lt the health CS Aden Duale give answers to Kenyans on the crisis and the 11 billion scandal “A teacher must be healthy for him/her to deliver in class” the MP stated.
However, the the legislator urged students to focus on their studies terming it as the only way to succeed, his statement was echoed by the school BOM chair.

The MP also used the platform to call on parents and youths who haven’t yet registered as voters to elect leaders on 2027.
