Youth in Busia County have been urged to avoid being misused by politicians during and after the General Election.
This is according to Busia County businessman Edwin Omondi Wepukhulu, popularly known as Chikuzee, who was sworn at the weekend as the Youth Spokesperson for the border county.

Speaking to the youth shortly after taking the oath , Chikuzee promised to unite all young people in Busia and to protect them from being exploited by politicians, especially during campaign periods.
His remarks were supported by youth leaders who attended the event, among them former Burumba Ward representative Moses Ochieng, politicians Fred Ohonjo, and Thomas Gazel. They expressed concern over how youths are often used by politicians and later abandoned.
One of the key responsibilities entrusted to their spokesperson, Chikuzee, is to ensure that the youth of Busia receive their constitutionally guaranteed thirty percent share.

Chikuzee noted that this can only be achieved if the youth remain united and support young politicians contesting for various leadership positions in Busia.
He was sworn in as the Youth President and Spokesperson of Busia in a ceremony presided over by lawyer Edgar Obimba.
