The Government Delay To Address Challenges Facing Youths Raises Their Wrath

By Merceline Nasambu Khaemba.
The delay by government to address challenges facing the youth unemployment has frustrated them.
Speaking during the 10th Annual young friends program conference hosted by Kamusinga yearly meeting at Kimilili girls’ secondary school, Masai Micah, representative young adults’ friends in Africa explained why the youths had many demonstrations on the streets.
“Young people, not only in Kenya but in the entire world, want to see some rapid changes and that’s why the government should not take time in addressing unemployment among youth,” he insisted.
Masai also said that the youths have been depressed due to lack of unemployment claiming that their opportunities have been given to those who don’t deserve it because of corruption in the name of connection.
He raised a complain that youths’ representatives are being blamed by their fellow youths in the name of ‘them not working and representing them well’ when in real sense they have also not been given a good opportunity to represent their fellow youths.
Applauding friends churches and other churches for helping the government in managing youths and bringing their wrath down by organizing such like conferences that not only teach them morals but also keeping them busy from indulging in illegal activities.
The main speaker of the conference, John Machine, called upon the government to give an ear and priority to youths not only in unemployment but also in their education because most of them have dropped out of schools due to lack of finances.
“As a church we wished we could have done more but we don’t have the ability, but we have played our part of trying to instill morals to the youths,” he said
Johnstone Wepukhulu, the presiding clerk of Kamusinga yearly meeting mentioned the topics to be taught during the conferences which have been categorized into social, spiritual and economic reiterating that its mainly aimed at shaping the morals of the youths.
He also called upon parents to work hand in hand with the church and the government to save this youth generation.
