Independent Candidate Beats All Odds, Emerges the Winner In Chwele/Kabuchai Ward

By James Wekesi
After the Kabuchai Member of Parliament Majimbo Kalasinga declared to fill his own candidate against Ford Kenya party, he has gone through tough times in his political career campaigning for an Independent candidate, many a time he has collided with goons in the ward since he was against FK party.
“I decided to fill my own candidate because it’s my right and he was fit to the will of the Chwele-Kabuchai people” he stated,” he said.
Addressing the press, Majimbo said his candidate Erick Wekesa emerged the winner with 6,162 votes after the ups and downs they passed through during their campaigns.

Majimbo also urged the Chwele-Kabuchai MCA elect to respect leaders starting from president, speaker of both houses and his colleagues.
“I have forgiven those who were used to disturb me but am filling a case for the party using people whom i know to mess with my property” he said.
Kalasinga is set to file a case demanding KSh 17 million in compensation from Ford Kenya, accusing the party of destroying his property—including a hotel, several vehicles, and a house.
Kalasinga claims the damages were caused during recent political chaos involving party supporters.
Former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati urged political rivals to accept election results and join hands in moving the county forward.
Wangamati emphasized that continued division would only hinder development, calling on those from “the other team” to embrace unity and accept defeat gracefully.
He also termed the Ford Kenya party leader who’s also the speaker of the national Assembly Moses Wetang’ula as a self centered person who cannot even generate ideas for the Luhya community to benefit.
Chwele–Kabuchai Ward MCA-elect Erick Wekesa thanked the leaders who stood with him during the campaign including Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya, Senator Edwin Sifuna, Westland Mp Tim Wanyonyi Wycliffe Wangamati and his own chief campaigner Majimbo Kalasinga terming them as the true friends.

He also called on all leaders from Western region and national at large to preach peace, especially in the tense post-election period.
Wekesa noted that calm and cohesion are essential for the community’s progress and urged leaders to set a positive example to their supporters, he promised to work for his bosses “Chwele-Kabuchai residents” without being biased.
