“Somebody enters an election hall with 300 goons carrying every bit of weapon, including machetes and clubs. War of politics needs only the mouth,” Kaunya said.

It is alleged that a politician allegedly hired goons to disrupt the process that left some people injured as Paul Otuoma was declared chairman.

The MP said he agrees with Chelelemuk Catholic parish priest to shun politics in funerals, noting that politics is the biggest problem in the country and it has no development.

He added:” The culture of some leaders is to engage in endless quarrels. Some of us don’t want conflicts of people quarrelling.”

In his sermon, Chelelemuk Parish Priest Fr. Bernard Fwamba called on educated Kenyans to utilize their academic achievement to transform lives instead of destroying it.

He challenged the educated elite to change the outdated cultural practices and behaviour that demean women in society and instead encourage women to participate fully in the socio-economic and political transformation in the country.

The parish priest challenged politicians not to use funerals as political campaign platforms but instead mourn with the bereaved genuinely and offer the necessary support and healing.

He took a swipe at the government for prioritizing the controversial affordable Housing and the Social Health Authority (SHA), arguing that what the people of Kenya want is a working health system and improvement of their social status through affordable basic needs.

Fr. Fwamba urged the people to work hard and respect the institution of marriage.
