Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has urged county assemblies to enhance public involvement in decision-making to strengthen devolution.
Speaking at the Peopleโs Dialogue Festival in Nairobi, Lusaka emphasized that governance must be people-centered, advocating for transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.
โThe power of devolution lies in bringing governance closer to the people,โ he said, calling for institutionalized public engagement through legislative processes, budget discussions, and digital platforms.
He urged MCAs to hold regular forums, involve marginalized groups, and adopt e-governance systems to boost transparency. Lusaka also called for collaboration with civil society and private sector players to drive effective governance.
