Dr. Kinity Demands Justice for 140,000 Elderly Kenyans Evicted from Ndabibi Farm

Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity has accused President William Ruto, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara, and businessman Simon David Gicharu of being behind the forceful eviction of over 140,000 elderly Kenyans, widows, and orphans from the Ndabibi farm in Naivasha.

In a strongly-worded statement, Dr. Kinity alleged that the evictions were part of a wider scheme to grab the 5,000-acre piece of land, despite the residents having lived there for decades. Some of the affected individuals are said to be over 90 years old, having inherited the land from their parents who worked for the farm’s previous owner.

“These elderly Kenyans have lived through the governments of Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel Moi, Mwai Kibaki, and Uhuru Kenyatta without any issue. It is only after William Ruto became President that they were violently removed from their homes,” Dr. Kinity said.

Dr. Kinity further claimed that the eviction exercise was accompanied by police brutality. He alleged that the elderly residents were harassed, beaten, and arrested during the operation.

“These people, many of whom are older than the President’s own grandfather, were subjected to unnecessary violence and cruelty,” he stated.

Drawing comparisons to a past case, Dr. Kinity referenced a 2008 incident where a Kenyan named Adrian Mutesi allegedly lost 100 acres of land to William Ruto. The matter was resolved in 2013 when the court ruled in Mutesi’s favor.

“History seems to be repeating itself. Just like Adrian Mutesi fought and won back his land, I believe the rightful owners of Ndabibi farm will also get justice,” Dr. Kinity remarked.

The evictions have left the affected families in distress, especially as the exercise took place during the planting season. With no land to farm, many now face an uncertain future without food or shelter.

“Where do we go now?” asked one elderly resident. “We were born here, we raised our families here, and now we have nothing.”

Dr. Kinity also questioned whether the evictions were politically motivated. He referenced a 2020 statement by William Ruto about a “Kalenjin problem” with the Kikuyu community, suggesting the land grab may be tied to a larger political agenda.

Jane Kihara however, has publicly defended President Ruto, dismissing the claims as false.

Dr. Kinity has called on President Ruto, Jane Kihara, and Simon Gicharu to return the land to its rightful owners.

“No leader should misuse their power to grab land from the elderly and the vulnerable,” he said. “The law is clear, and justice must prevail.”

He urged Kenyans to remain hopeful, emphasizing that if Adrian Mutesi could win back his land, the Ndabibi residents could also succeed in reclaiming their property.
