A storm is brewing in the western region as school principals from Bungoma, Vihiga, Kakamega, Busia, and Trans Nzoia counties accuse infamous blogger Amunga Akhanyalabandu of orchestrating a reign of terror through harassment, blackmail, negative propaganda and extortion.
The principals, who spoke separately allege that Mr. Amunga demands bribes from school heads and upon refusal, launches vicious social media attacks designed to tarnish their reputations. Reports also link him to unrest in some schools across western through his inciting social media posts.
Disturbing reports further claim that Amunga, a former teacher, was dismissed after preying on his female student through sexual manipulation, a behaviour that is unethical and punishable according to the Teachers Service Commission Code of Regulation and sexual offense Act. This has cast a shadow over his credibility.
The principals are calling on authorities to urgently intervene and stop what they term as βdigital terrorismβ by the rogue blogger before more damage is done.
