It was a display of giants fighting for a trophy and cash as big teams clashed during the Hon. Joseph Lendrix Waswa’s tournament in Webuye West constituency.
During the final game, Nambami FC outwitted Milo FC to take home Sh300,000 in cash and a trophy which was well displayed at Webuye DEB comprehensive primary school.
The winner was decided through a penalty shoot out after the two teams drew 1-1 during the 90 minutes. Nambami won 4-3 through the penalty.
Milo FC was awarded Sh200,000 while Malaha FC the 3rd team got Sh150,000 while Bokoli Jua kali FC the fourth team got Sh100,000.
The tournament which was meant to stop idleness and engage youths during the festive season was played in all the four wards of Bokoli, Matulo, Misikhu and Sitikho.
During his speech, Lendrix called on Webuye West constituency voters to choose a development conscious leader.
“I have done a lot for you, during the semi finals and finals of this tournament, I engaged the ministry of health in offering free medical camp where people with different illnesses were treated for free and offered drugs while at the same time I encouraged people to register for free social health authority where we registered over 5,000 people,” he said.
Lendrix also offered Christmas gifts to vulnerable families while at the same time giving umbrellas to Mama Mbogas and other small scale traders to cushion them from scorching sun while they carry out with their businesses in Webuye West constituency.
“We are not resting until we liberate this constituency from backward politics, choose a development conscious leader in 2027 for your own benefit,” said Lendrix.
