Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has officially launched the construction of the KSh 400 million Soko Kubwa market, a state-of-the-art facility designed to boost local trade.
The three-storey market boasts of modern stalls, ICT hubs, revenue offices, toilets, a mother’s room, and parking areas, among other amenities.
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Lusaka emphasized the importance of involving the local labor force and youth in the project to foster economic empowerment within the community.
The market, set for completion in 18 months, is expected to ease congestion and provide traders with a more conducive environment for business operations .
