Elephants Combined team emerged winners of the two-week Netball Trust tournament that was held in Bungoma County and attracted 19 teams.
Elephants asserted their supremacy to carry the day after beating Rhinos in a thrilling final in Bungoma Town to crown a successful fourth edition of the event.
Netball Development Trust started in Kenya
in 2014. Country Director Joseph Olita said they use netball to bring participants together.
” Participants are also educated on teengae pregnancy, menstrual and mental health,” Olita said, noting that they also work with secondary schools to offer scholarships to talented netball players.

Week one saw 11 teams converge that included Kibindoi Primary School with Kabkara, Machakha, Tororo, Wamono, Kaburueti, Kaprot, Tulienge, Namubila, Marakaru, and Mufungu Communities.
The second week saw teams pitch camp in Urban Bungoma with Bungoma DEB, Kandui DEB, Mukhaweli, Mupeli, Siritanyi, Sinoko, Moi, and Commonwealth and Central Baptist schools.
Olita disclosed that all participating teams were given netball uniforms, bibs, balls, whistles, and netball equipment.
