Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has called on medical superintendents across the county to fully embrace the new health management system to enhance order and efficiency in health facilities.

Speaking during a meeting with superintendents from all sub-county hospitals, Governor Lusaka emphasized that the implementation of the new system would curb corruption and prevent wastage within the health sector.

โ€œWe must embrace this new system to streamline and improve our healthcare operations,โ€ stated Governor Lusaka.

He also urged health administrators to ensure that procurement processes are transparent and above board, warning that any violations would be met with strict accountability.

The governor highlighted the sensitivity of the health sector, stressing the need for all systems to function optimally.

He also expressed concern over the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) owing substantial amounts to county health facilities, which has hindered their smooth operation.

Governor Lusaka promised to engage with NHIF to expedite reimbursements and assured residents that the county is committed to ensuring timely drug supplies to all facilities.
