For the first time when you meet him, he looks shy but composed, you might mistake him for an innocent youth who can’t bite.
But during our candid interview with him, he reveals himself as a bold, go getter and promising, don’t mistake a sleep lion to a dog….
Meet Mr.Dan Wafula Namai, at 27 Rastafarian born and raised in Munyali village in Musikoma ward within Bungoma town.
Wafula tells Horizon News that he vied for the Kanduyi parliamentary seat in 2022 and out of 13 candidates, he managed to emerge fourth with over 8,000 votes.
Wafula confirms that it was tough to get support as an independent candidate after making his first stab into politics and it was a life learning experience which he intends to change in 2027.
Wafula states that fighting with big wigs in politics including the former Mp Wafula Wamunyinyi among other monied and experienced politicians was a no mean achievement.
“As a youth, I promise a tough dwell in 2027, Kanduyi will never be the same again, with the help of Gen z movement, I will take this seat very early in the morning,” he said.
He observes that Gen Z’s aren’t a joke and they will win many seats in 2027 courtesy of their energy.
WHO IS DAN WAFULA NAMAI?
He is a trained high School teacher who majored in English/literature from Moi University.
He also took his Second degree in technology science majoring in information technology in the same institution and is currently awaiting to take a course in law.
He works with a blue chip technology company in Nairobi and also owns businesses in Bungoma town.
He also owns Dan Wafula foundation, which supports vulnerable groups.
Wafula says he chose politics after seeing a vacuum in leadership in Kanduyi constituency and that is why he is working towards filling it.
“We want leaders who represent people rather than their own interests, people’s interests must come first,” he said.
He added, “I want to sanitize the constituency which will have great leaders, who are also accountable,”.
Wafula added, we want to change the Political, economic and social transformation of our region.
He has emerged and wants to change the fortunes of Kanduyi residents, let voters make a correct choice in 2027.
“If elected I will bring investors to build Bungoma county, we will not repeat the same mistake,” he noted.
He urged youths to pick IDs and vote in droves so as to change the chorus.
