Provisonal results shows Aladwa has 36,700 votes against 28,600 votes of Anthnoy Waithaka of UDA

Makadara MP George Aladwa has retained his seat for the second term on an ODM ticket.
Provisional results are showing Aladwa ahead with 36,700 votes against his closet challenger, Anthony Waithaka of UDA who was trailing him with 28,600 votes.
"I have now been elected into office as Makadara MP for a second term. I dare say that the sky is the limit. Thank you the people of makadara for showing me love and breaking the jinx simba ni moja ngumi ni mbwekse,"
Aladwa will now go to the books of history as the only MP who has managed to secure a second term in office as Makadara legislator.
The no nonsense ODM lawmaker went got into politics at the age of 22 years in 1992.
“In 1992,I was elected the councilor for Makongeni-Kaloleni ward at age 22. That was the beginning of my political career that saw me serve as the last mayor for the defunct Nairobi City Council,” said Alwadwa
He added : “I have now been elected into office as Makadara MP for a second term. I dare say that the sky is the limit. Thank you the people of makadara for showing me love and breaking the jinx simba ni moja ngumi ni mbwekse,”
Aladwa became the Mayor of Nairobi on 10th August 2011 on an ODM ticket having served in an acting capacity after his predecessor, Geoffrey Majiwa, was forced to step down over over a corruption case involving the sale of cemetery land.
