The race for Matulo ward has taken a new twist after four candidates across coalitions dropped their bid ahead of August 9 polls and backed one candidate.

The candidates have backed Ford Kenya candidate Stephen Kaiser Simiyu alias Sonko who has been ranked top in the race. 

Chrispine Okech alias Owino of Federal party ,  Innocent Simiyu of ODM, Dinna  Nambengele of ANC and David Shikote(independent) have thrown weight behind Kaiser.

Pundits say the move is slated to disrupt home turf of incumbent Paul Wanyonyi Wamalwa alias Wanyoike who has served for 10 yrs.

Wamalwa is a DAP K party candidate allied to defence cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa. 

Chrispine Owino in a press conference said the Matulo ward is a concluded case after the entry of Kaiser.

Kaiser has in the recent past ruffled feathers with the powers to be after taking on the sitting MP Dan Wanyama accusing him of sabotaging his bid .
