Residents of Kakamega town were on Saturday treated to a rare drama when a thief who stole a television set was attacked and stung by bees.

The incident that took place at Jua Kali estate in the outskirt of Kakamega town shocked many people who kept on talking in low tones.

Reports indicated that the suspect had stolen the Television set, money and other household items from the owner who is a hotel manager.

The drama paralyzed business and transport along the busy Kakamega-Kisumu highway forcing businessmen to close down their shops.

The owner identified as Joseph Waundo had to seek for an alternative means to recover his items and Sh57,000.

He sought help from a renowned magician Doctor Nyuki from Tabora district in Tanzania.
Doctor Nyuki used his magic powers to nab the thief who was properly attacked by bees as was taking the TV for sale.

Many residents have raised complaints about the theft incidencies which have left their houses empty and swept clean.

Residents who turned up to watch the drama for themselves  stated the gimmick is meant to con unsuspecting members of the public.

“The incident is a pure con game, it is meant to steal from Kenyans, no bees can sting any thief, let connish people stop this,” said Nathaniel Obende, an eye witness.

Police officers who tried  to save the suspect from the angry  members of the public from lynching were pelted with stones.

The security personnel were forced to shoot in the air to disperse the public, arrested and booked him for investigation.
