Asing’e FC, Itoya Hope To Extend Lead As Battle For Busia County League Hots Up

Asinge FC and Itoya will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of their respective zones this weekend as the battle for Busia County League hots up.

Asinge which tops Zone A with 20 points from nine matches will be away to Kekalet on Sunday at Kekalet Primary School play ground, kick off 1:00pm.

Asinge justified their desire to top the zone with a 1-0 victory against Chakol FC at Asinge Primary School over the weekend with Wilberforce Wabwire netting the lone goal of the match.

Kekalet which are fourth with 13 points from nine matches will be hoping to produce another magic that has seen them overcome strong opposition before their partisan fans.

Itoya which earned a walkover after Abananda FC failed to show up at the Busia County Stadium will be away to Butula Eagles at Butula Polytechnic on Sunday.

The early pacesetters have amassed 27 points from 11 matches. They take on Eagles which drew 1-1 with Spiders at Bukati Primary School to jump to sixth position on the log with 16 points.

Young Muslims which were held to a 3-3 draw by California FC at Nyakwaka Primary School is second on the table with 23 points from 10 matches. They travel to Nambale on Saturday to face Nambale United at Nambale AC primary school.

Muungano which started the season on a high note, winning their opening matches including against leaders Itoya are beginning to feel the heat. The team that will be away to Namwitsula on Saturday at Namwitsula Primary School were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Young Tigers FC.

The draw saw them move to third position with 21 points from 10 matches while Spiders which drew 1-1 with Eagles are fourth with 20 points. They have a date with Buradi on Saturday at Buradi Primary School.

Nasewa will be hoping to redeem themselves when they travel away to meet highriding California at Mudembi Primary School on Sunday. They only managed a 1-1 draw at home to Namwitsula.

Group A second placed Obucuun Border FC, with 15 points to their credit, will host Kamolo FC on Saturday at Among’ura Primary School. Kamolo which were held to a goalless draw at home by FC Machakusi are eighth on the log with 11 points from nine matches.

Mungatsi are third with 14 points from 10 games. Kamuriai which drew 1-1 with Mungatsi at Kamuriai Primary School have jumped to fifth position with 12 points from nine matches.

In other Zone A matches played at the weekend, Musokoto drew 1-1 with Kiriko at Musokoto Primary Schoo while Lupida beat Esidende 2-0.
