During the recently concluded Ford Kenya party nominations in Kabuchai constituency, Bungoma County, a popular politician Polycarp Kimeta Wandabusi emerged the winner for the West Nalondo ward.
A Youthful Wandabusi trounced his closest rival James Wafula Nyongesa alias Bitina by 100 votes.
Wandabusi a renowned businessman emerged the winner after getting 499 against Wafula’s 411.
“I thank my supporters and part members for turning up in large numbers to cast their votes in my favour, if elected the ward leader in August I pledge to change the face of West Nalondo ward,” he said.
Speaking to Horizon News on Thursday, Wandabusi observed that he has had the dream to help his people through an electable position but he hasn’t been lucky all along.
“This time round am sure of winning this seat, it has been long overdue but with God everything is possible, I will ensure that this region is developed and be the case study for other wards,” he said.
Wandabusi has been instrumental in helping area residents through payment of school fees for the bright but poor students, provision of foodstuffs and standing with them financially.
“One thing I was taught by my parents is that I should not be mean, that’s why the little I get, we always share, this is the qualities of a good leader, if elected I promise to change the face of my ward to the best of my knowledge,” he said.
He added, “I will also come up with bills in the assembly that will caution the common Mwananchi from the skyrocketing prices of goods to ensure that they don’t suffer much the way it is happening now,”.
Wandabusi will now square it out with a former Webuye West parliamentary aspirant Barasa Kane alias Baross who has also bagged the UDA certificate among others.
