Liverpool inflicted a horrible thorn in Manchester United’s flesh by thrashing them 4.0 at Anfield on Tuesday night in a one sided EPL tie.

Luiz Diaz opened the scoring for the reds in the 5th minute after tactically finishing Mohammed Salah’s superb pass.

That goal purely left United disorganized in all departments.

It was indeed a clear ominous roll by Liverpool as they totally out played United moreso in the midfield.

Thiago Alcantara was definitely the midfield king with mouth watering passes and tackles that vandalized United’s game plan.

Then Mohammed Salah’s moment came in the 22nd minute.

He feasted on a Sadio Mane’s spectacular pass to score Liverpool’s second of the night, ending his 8 game goal drought.

United players looked exhausted as the first half ended 2.0 in favour of the free scoring Liverpool.

United were playing by without their Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo who had a day off after losing his new born twin son.

His absence was visible since United had only one shot on target powered by a weak possession, quite a horrible statistic.

It was Senegalese tactician Mane who jeopardized United’s chances of pulling back a trigger.

He was assisted by Diogo Jota to score in the 69th minute before Salah completed the hauling with a brace 5 minutes before stoppage time.

Both Sadio Mane, Luiz Diaz and Salah scored and assisted.

This is the second time in this season that a team has had 3 players all scoring and getting an assist each in a single league game.

It is the same Liverpool who achieved fete first when they trounced United 5.0 at Old Trafford in the first leg.

“I am not here to humiliate opponents or whatever, this is absolutely not the reason. We did what we had to do and we won the games. That’s how it is.We started the game well and finished the game extremely well off,” Liverpool manager Jurgen Kloop told reporters after the game.

Liverpool have now become the first team to score 9 goals against United in a single season.

They won 5.0 at Old Trafford in the first leg before they martialed yesternight’s massacre (4.0).

The reds are now at the summit of the league with 76 points ,two ahead of Manchester City who host Brighton on Wednesday night.

They have definitely thrown the gauntlet to City who must beat Brighton to regain top spot with only 7 games left.

Apparently, Liverpool are on the verge of becoming the first English side to win four trophies in a single season.

They’ve already won the Carabao cup and will face Chelsea in the FA cup final at Wembley on May 14th.

Besides, they are the favourites to beat Villarreal in the champions league semi finals and are currently top of the EPL table.

It is indeed a top notch form for the Jurgen Kloop’s lads.

On the other hand, United’s chances of playing in the champions league next season have vanished into thin air.

They remain 6th, 3 points behind 4th placed Tottenham who have a game in hand.

United will travel to 5th placed Arsenal on Saturday, who are level on points (54), despite Arsenal having played 2 less games.

Football pundits have opined that this is probably United’s worst ever moment and their glory days could be as good as over.

United are gearing up to bring Ajax manager Eric Ten Hag at the end of the season after the expiry of Ralf Ragnick’s 6 months contract.
