Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa has faulted Ford Kenya part leadership for failing to redeem Trans Nzoia county’s social-economic development status.

The CS accused outgoing governor Patrick Khaemba and Kiminini MP Dr.Chris Wamalwa for not completing development projects in the county.

“I am the acting CS for Devolution, I thought I will find when things have changed but I have found that the last county number 47 in terms of development is Transnzoia county,” he said.

Eugene, who doubles up as an ardent hit man in the Raila Odinga presidential campaign team be was speaking at Kiminini, Transnzoia county on Saturday.

He accused the Ford Kenya party leadership led by Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula and his brigade for putting little focus on matters development.

“For 9 years, you’ve given Ford Kenya the chance to form your county government. We have gone to Kitale hospital and seen that for 9 years , you’ve don’t have a refferal hospital, you are still going to Eldoret’s MTRH, .We have shown baba the stadium. For 9 years, the stadium has defeated Khaemba and the Ford Kenya county government,” he said.

Eugene slammed Ford Kenya and noted that the county must stop walking with the traditional party in order for it to achieve massive development goals.

The CS took the occasion to campaign for DAP-K’S gubernatorial candidate George Natembeya.

According to Eugene who doubles up as the co-founder of the DAP-K party,it is only Natembeya who can lead the county in delivering massive development projects.

Natembeya, who is the immediate former Rift Valley regional commissioner, received an exponential trajectory after ODM’S Raila Odinga endorsed his gubernatorial bid in front of a mammoth crowd in Kiminini.

The gubernatorial race in Transnzoia will undoubtedly be a two horse battle featuring Natembeya and Kiminini MP Dr.Chris Wamalwa.

The newly founded DAP-K party is ostensibly running errands to displace Ford Kenya from the Transnzoia and Bungoma political arena.

At the same time, Eugene pleased with the Transnzoia voters to vote for Azimio’s Raila Odinga in the presidential contest.

“The journey that was started by Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and Masinde Muliro is not yet completed, the journey of Michael Kijana Wamalwa is not yet complete, today I ask you to be ready to complete that journey. This year, the prophecy of Elijah Masinde will come to pass,” he added.

Eugene was referring to the famous Elijah Masinde saying over 69 years ago that one day the Kenya’s leadership will come to Luhya land through Lake Victoria.

According to Eugene, the only way of ensuring that is by voting for Raila Odinga to win the August 9th presidential race.

Despite not holding an elective position, Eugene has gradually risen to an influential leader across Transnzoia and Kenya at large.

His cordial relationship with president Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga has seen him serve in Uhuru’s cabinet for the last 9 years.
