Bukhuma Senators FC In Early Lead As Butula Sub-Branch League Kicks Off

Bukhuma Senators FC took an early lead as the Football Kenya Federation Butula Sub Branch League comprising eight teams entered the second week.

Bukhuma trounced All Stars 2-0 to take the lead with four points from two matches. They were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Young Strikers in their opening encounter.

Jacaranda FC capitalized on homeground advantage to silence Lugulu FC 2-1 to catapult them to second position with three points.

Khunyangu which drew 0-0 with AllStars are placed third with two points, one ahead of AllStars and Simuli FC which drew 1-1 with Khunyangu but are separated on goal difference.

The Sub Branch chairman, Boniface Okumu Obiero said eight teams are taking part in the league, noting that three teams including, Namwitsula, Spiders FC and Western Kings were promoted to the County League last season.

Obiero said the league would have attracted many teams but transport constraints were their undoing, urging the sons and daughters of the soil to the support their teams to enable them honour their matches.
