A former Kanduyi parliamentary aspirant on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) John Makali has officially joined Ford Kenya party.
Ford Kenya party is owned by Bungoma senator Moses Wetang’ula who is also the party leader.
Speaking at his home in Bungoma town on Friday while meeting Kanduyi FK officials, Makali dismissed propaganda that he is a coward.
“From today henceforth, I will be campaigning to ensure I send home the incumbent who has failed this constituency, those labelling me as a coward are in for a rude shock,” said Makali.
Makali who was slightly defeated by the incumbent Wafula Wamunyinyi in 2017 who will be defending his seat on DAP-K will face a youth Wafula Wakoli and Nairobi businessman Wafula Wambanda in the nominations.
“I decided to join FK because it is a party with an overwhelming grassroot support in Bungoma County, this is the party of our forefathers and it is our heritage,” he said.
Makali warned his rival to be prepared for a tough dwell that has never seen before.
“This time round, it a do or die dwell, I must win this sit by all means, hakuna mchezo wakati huu, tuko tayari Kwa hiki kinyang’anyiro, ” he said.
Makali a lawyer by profession noted that he is ready to lead Kanduyi constituency in parliament and bring the needed changes that have been missing for long.
“I want good utilization of CDF funds, the current leadership has totally failed our people, we want to see changes that will benefit everyone,” he said.
Kanduyi Constituency FK Secretary Tobias Khisa said that the meeting was meant to familiarize their new candidates with the party structures.
“We are not here to endorse Makali but to welcome him to our party, he will still have to face other structures,” he said.
