Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetang’ula has laughed off allegations linking him to Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja campaign trail.
In a tweet on Friday morning, the outspoken Bungoma senator maintained that he is in Kenya Kwanza to stay and has been busy scheduling his party’s primaries.
“Have had a busy moment at Ford Kenya party headquarters receiving , encouraging and advising our candidates in preparation for our party primaries.Kenya Kwanza is the valid dream and hope for Kenya,” he tweeted @Sen. Moses Wetangula.
Wetangula’s reaction came amid speculations on social media.
A number of Azimio’s bloggers had indicated that Wetangula has attended a breakfast meeting with Raila at his Karen residence.
However, the allegations have been termed fake and malicious by Kenya Kwanza’s lieutenants.
Hustler Nation Spokesperson Dennis Itumbi dismissed the rumours and attributed it to their desperate political nemesis who have lacked a genuine political agenda.
“Let them continue with their rumours. If you see them just tell them that even lying requires some little knoledge,” he tweeted @Dennis Itumbi HSC.
Political pundits have opined that the Azimio’s hit men have been working day and night behind closed doors in an attempt to woo Wetangula to ditch Kenya Kwanza.
The pandemonium commenced when Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka joined Azimio La Umoja and pleaded with Wetangula to follow suit.
In a recent interview on a national TV station Kalonzo said “I tell you I miss man Weta because we have struggled and suffered together with him.So don’t be surprised if he joins where I am,”.
The sentiments have stirred political pundits to believe that efforts must be underway to bring Moses Wetangula into the Raila’s kitchen cabinet.
Wetangula was an ardent hit man of Raila in both the 2013 and 2017 general elections but apparently parted ways after the March 2018 Raila-Uhuru handshake.
At the moment, Wetangula is undoubtedly a fundamental utility player in the Kenya Kwanza campaign trail team.
Thus his exit can leave a thunderous cyclone on the DP Ruto’s camp.
Wetangula is gearing up to defend his Bungoma senatorial seat as well as lobby for a DP Ruto presidency.
Neither of the Kenya Kwanza leaders have openly commented on the speculations but much is expected to transpire as the campaign trails hit the roads over the weekend.
