Murende Highlanders Hit Nambere 4-1 In FKF Matayos Sub Branch League

Murende Highlanders trounced hosts Nambere Olympics 4-1 in the Football Kenya Federation Matayos Sub Branch Zone B League match played at Muyafwa Primary School.

Felix Otieno put Murende into the lead after 34 minutes before Jacktone Otieno added two more goals in the 41st and 44th minutes to take a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Otieno was on target again in the 52nd minute to earn him a hat trick. Nambere’s consolation goal was scored by Edwin Ochieng in the 72nd minute.

At Lwanya Primary School, Rising Stars beat hosts Epitome FC 2-1 with goals from James Robert in the 28th minute and Kevin Taabu (62nd minute). Epitome’s lone goal was scored by Edude Passey in the 56th minute.

In the other match played at Mabunge Primary School, hosts Mabunge were beaten 2-1 by visiting Uprising Angels.

The winners netted their goals through Morgan Ouma and Aaron Odongo. Mabunge’s consolation goal was scored by Chris Masore.

After the second week of the gruelling action, Jacktone Otieno of Murende Higlanders is toping the scoreboard with five goals to his credit. Gift Khaseke of Esigwata Riverside and Kevin Taabu of Busende Rising Stars tie on second place with two goals each.

After the weekend matches, Murende Highlanders are topping the league chart with six points from two matches. Despite tying on six points, Rising Stars and Uprising Angels are placed second and third respectively on the log due to inferior goal aggregate.
