Miriongo, Barasa Net Hat Tricks As FKF Busia County League Entered 4th Week

Phentipilar Miriongo netted three times to earn newcomers Asinge FC a 4-0 victory over seasoned Kamolo in a Group A Football Kenya Federation County League match played at Asinge Primary School play ground yesterday.

Asinge who were held to a goalless draw by Obucuun last weekend at the same venue were in no mood to drop other points with Wilberforce Wabwire putting them into the lead in the 12th minute.

Miriongo who tore Kamolo defence asunder scored added the second goal in the 32 minute and the third four minutes to make it 3-0 at the break.

Kamolo came back into the games in the second half with last season top scorer Eugene Okello Omudek “Afobe10” tormenting Asinge defence but lady luck failed to smile on them.

Although already assured of three crucial points, Asinge nailed the final nail in Kamolo’s coffin with fourth goal two minutes onto injury time through Miriongo as the County League entered its fourth week at the weekend.

Namwitsula All Stars came from two goals down to beat visiting Abananda FC 4-3 in a high scoring match played at Namwitsula Primary School.

Namwitsula were the first to score in the 13th minute through Godwin Chesa. Abananda scored two quick goals goals in
the 27 and 28th minutes that were well executed by Barasa to make it 2-1 in their favour.

Namwitsula intensified their attacks to level terms in the 31st minute through Chesa for the two teams to head for the break tied at 2-2.

To show his desire to inscribe his name on the top scorers chart this season, Barasa was on the mark in the 46th minute as Abananda took a 3-2 lead.

Namwitsula fought back strongly to make it 3-3 through Danstan Barasa in the 73rd minute before Linus Busera’s strike in the 86th minute that earned them a hard-fought victory.

The hosts received a setback in the 44th minute when Michael Akwiri was sent off by Centre Referee Jude Ekasiba for violent conduct.

At Nyakwaka Primary School, Young Tigers made full use of homeground advantage to trounce Butula Eagles 3-0 with goals from Japheth Masiga in the 8th minute, Harrison Wangalwa (40th) and Leonard Oduory (47th) in the match officiated by Bonke Paul.

In another Group A match played at Chakol Primary School, hosts Chakol FC and Esidende drew 1-1 in a closely fought match well officiated by Jonathan Odhiambo.

The visitors who went into the offensive from the first whistle stunned the hosts with the first goal in the 20th minute through Isaiah Siali to make it 1-0 at half time.

Undeterred by the early setback, Chakol put their acts together in the second half to level the score in the 67th minute through Laban Opalakadi.

At Mungatsi Primary School, hosts Mungatsi beat Machakusi 1-0 with Alexis Ouma scoring the lone goal.

In other matches Labour FC beat Nasewa 2-1, Obucuun Border FC beat Kamuriai 1-0 at Kamuriai Primary School, Kekalet and Kiriko drew 0-0.
