Former Nakuru East Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Eric Wanyonyi who resigned to seek the Kabuchai Parliamentary seat as dismissed rumours of joining DAP-K.
Speaking to Horizon News, Wanyonyi stated that he is firmly in Ford Kenya party and will face off with the current Mp Kalasinga Majimbo.
The former administrator observed that the current Mp should be bold enough and face him at the party primaries instead of making outrageous remarks in public places.
“Let Ford Kenya display democracy and let each candidate enjoy a level playing democratic space, no one should be favoured through being given a direct nomination,” he said.
Wanyonyui pointed out that any person can go for a political seat and not the office job, ‘anybody can contest for it (Political seat), not fearing for competition, political seats are not given but are rather taken,”.
“Let my supporters understand that I am firmly in Ford Kenya, I haven’t defected to or joined Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), I am ready to face the current Mp at the nomination stage, the winner takes it all,” said Wanyonyi.
There were posters doing rounds on social media depicting the politician having joined DAP-K and was ready to be received by the party leader Wafula Wamunyinyi.
Majimbo has publicly been calling on the former administrator whom he refers to as his former high school teacher to be ready for a political duel.
“He taught me Agriculture at Sikusi high school and he used to tell us to study hard so that we can secure jobs, I have secured one in parliament, he shouldn’t have resigned inorder to contest for the same seat with his student,” Majimbo was quoted saying.
The duo faced off in the Ford Kenya nominations during the Kabuchai by elections following the death of the late Mp James Mukwe Lusweti.
Majimbo emerged the winner during the nominations and eventually won during the by-election to represent the region.
