The push to have Kimaeti sub county slashed off from the vast and populous Bumula Sub county has finally become a reality after the Ministry of interior and coordination of national deployed the Deputy County Commissioner.
In a circular on Tuesday, the interior ministry through Kåränjå Kinichi has deployed madam Christine Muyoma to the office in what many feel will ease service delivery to the citizens.
This follows up the gazetting and allocation of the codes that had already been done.
The late DC Cornelius Wamalwa, who hails from Kimaeti had started the process back in 2015 together with Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa who was then the CS for water when he wanted to vie for Bumula Mp seat on Jubilee ticket.
However, DC Wamalwa passed on in 2018 before he could see his dream achieved.
During his burial in Kimaeti, CS Eugene Wamalwa promised that he will honour the late DC by ensuring that the Sub county is delivered in addition to another one in MT elgon.
True to his word, the Sub county has been born and is set to be commissioned soon.
According to sources, CS Fred Matiang’i and Eugene Wamalwa will lead a team of national government officials to official launch the new Sub county and delivered funds that will be used to put up offices and other amenities.
They will also take another Sub county to Mt elgon and Tongaren in addition to installing Chief Muyundo as Principal chief in kimaeti.
The process has attracted political interests with the area MP trying to get mileage on it but according to reports from the regional administration, the efforts are free of any political interests and politicians should keep off to let the Ministry of interior deliver services to citizens.
