Newly promoted clubs to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Branch League from Teso North Sub Branch, have pledged to do their best as the 2021/2022 season is set to kick off on January 26th, 2022.
Speaking on behalf of five other clubs which have been elevated to Branch League status, during a ceremony to award branded T-Shirts courtesy of mini-league sponsor, Daniel Mogoria, Mr Nelson Obwana said they have what it takes to excel in the Branch League.
Kiriko which emerged the Sub branch champions, runners up, Kamuriai FC, third placed Tiger FC Chamasiri, Kakemer and Moding will feature in the branch league that is entering its second season.
Mr Mogoria said he will strive through the help of other partners and the County Government to start a sports centre in the county and improve Malaba Stadium, Achunet by constructing Russian stands to prevent fans from sweltering heat and rain.
” Sports has emerged the best industry in the world. This calls for concerted efforts to support it grow to the highest level by availng the requisite facilities,” he said.
Mogoria urged teams to be focused and play as friends to conform with fair play principle, adding that rough play and inciting fans to violence will only help destroy the game.
FKF Busia Branch Secretary General, Mr Reuben Olita urged clubs that will participate in the branch league to ensure they abide by February 5th, 2022 deadline of submitting players registration forms to facilitate printing of players cards.
” I appreciate the mini-league sponsor for that noble idea and for offering good package which included sets of uniform, balls and cash awards. Other leaders and well-wishers should emulate that magnificent feat that will go along way in nurturing talents that abound in the county,” the SG said.
The Sub Branch chairman, Victor Ochakala urged other well wishers to emulate the kind gesture of Mr Mogoria who went out of his way to sponsor the mini-league involvong top four teams in the sub branch zonal leagues.
” Another notable thing is that the sub branch managed to organise the mini-league for the first time in over a decade, this is no mean achievement,” he said.
