Democratic Action Party of Kenya has officially unveiled Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati as its gubernatorial candidate.
Speaking at Posta ground in Bungoma town during the Azimio la Umoja rally on Friday, Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa stated that the party had picked Wangamati after a long consultation.
“Wangamati has done so well as the first time governor, he has constructed roads, awarded scholarships to thousands of needy students joining secondary schools and many more projects that has changed people’s lives,” said Wamalwa.
He called on Bungoma residents to reelect Wangamati to ensure he completes the projects he has started.
“Recently Wangamati was feted for being the best governor who has initiated development projects in his county, what puzzled me more was that his rival who is the Senate speaker Ken Lusaka graced the occasion as the guest of honour and awarded him,” he said.
Wamalwa is believed to be the owner of DAP-K also asked many aspirants to join it because it is a democratic party that will propel them to many electable positions.
Wangamati was officially unveiled by Wamalwa, Wamunyinyi, Ayub Savula.While several MCAs including Kimilili MCA David Barasa, Naitiri/Kabuyefwe, Misikhu, Kabula and many more.
Wangamati lauded DAP leaders for identifying him and giving him an opportunity to run for the governorship.”We are starting a new dawn, we are unveiling a new party, we will walk together, we will win on this party, support it,” he said.
He called on Bungoma residents to support Raila Odinga and elect him under the Azimio la Umoja.
