Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala has warned ODM’s secretary general Edwin Sifuna to keep off the Mudavadi-Ruto merger.
“I want to tell you Edwin Sifuna, you can’t continue demeaning ANC, if you think ANC is a small party why are you agitated? It is evident that the earthquake has sent you into a panic”, he said.
Malala who was speaking live on Citizen Tv’s Daybreak show on Tuesday morning, maintained that the friendship between DP Ruto and ANC boss Musalia Mudavadi is just only but the beginning of a tremendous political tide.
He was reacting to Sifuna’s claims that Mudavadi had betrayed his OKA co-principles and the Mulembe nation at large.
“Sifuna you have no space in Western region, the association between Ruto and Mudavadi is going to ensure we wipe this menace called ODM out of western for once and for all”, he added.
This follows the declaration by Mudavadi on Sunday that he is willing to join hands with DP’s brigade and fight for a better economy.
There has been mixed reactions from various Luhya leaders amid the events that transpired at Bomas on Sunday.
Former national assembly speaker Kenneth Marende and COTU boss Francis Atwoli are among the leaders who have openly told off Mudavadi.
Malala who is a vocal lieutenant in Musalia’s kitchen cabinet reiterated that ODM no longer has a notable political impact in the Western political arena.
“Even Jubilee has more MPS in Kakamega than ODM, so you can’t start demeaning that pushed and flushed you out of western region”,he noted.
The vocal senator didn’t give Sifuna any chance and underlined that Sifuna has no impact even in his own home turf which is Bungoma county.
According to Malala , Edwin Sifuna is just a spanner boy in ODM and he has no mandate of making any decisions in the party.
“The secretary general of ODM is not really Edwin Sifuna, he is just there for an purposes of optics- his job description is basically to handle the social media platforms of ODM and taking selfies at Orange house”, he said.
The Mudavadi-Ruto merger has sparkled dozens of reactions across the political divide.
Political pundits have opined that it is a move that has widened Ruto’s options for a running mate.
Although Ruto’s Ally Oscar Sudi has told journalists in Nakuru that their focus is not merely on sharing positions.
Mudavadi and Wetangula are expected to join Ruto’s brigade at a mega rally inside Nakuru showground scheduled for be Wednesday 26th January.
