Four people perished in a grisly road accident in Mabanga on Webuye-Malaba highway.
Eight people were rushed to Bungoma County Referral hospital in critical condition.
The Sunday night accident involved a PSV Matatu from Bungoma Line Shuttle that hit a stationary truck from behind.
Out of the four people, three died on the spot including the driver of the ill fated vehicle while one passed away while receiving treatment at Bungoma County Referral Hospital.
Confirming the incident, Bungoma South Police boss Benjamin Kimwele stated that the vehicle was heading to Bungoma town when the accident occured.
“I am calling on drivers to be very vigilant when driving especially at night, they should stop over-speeding,” Kimwele advised.
The OCPD noted that majority accidents are prone to take place following the long distance trucks that are parked on the high way to Uganda.
“These trucks are a time bomb, they should be cleared very fast to stop causing accidents on the highway,” he said.
Deceased’s bodies were taken to Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary.
