Raila’s 2022 Presidency Boosted As Mulembe Youth Movement Supports Azimio la Umoja


Youths from Western and North Rift regions have vowed to support President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja.

The Youth under the Mulembe Youth Movement umbrella say that for the country to enjoy peaceful coexistence they have thrown their weight behind Odinga as he has the national outlook.

Speaking in Bungoma town on Thursday, Youths led by Convener of Mulembe Youth Movement Alex Matere lauded Cotu secretary general for his sole role in ensuring that the Mulembe nation supports Azimio la Umoja.

“Atwoli has steered nation to participate in the conversation in national politics, he has played a huge role in everything,” he said.

The National Youth leader of Azimio la Umoja also stated that the caucus will participate in the Bukhungu 2 declaration and will mobilize many youths to join Atwoli in the December 31, 2021.

Matere also called on One Kenya Alliance to join and support Raila in his quest of clinching the presidency.

“We want the Mulembe nation to participate fully in the government that will be structured next year, this will give us as a community a full share of the national cake,” he said.

Nairobi County senatorial aspirant Faith Lukosi said that the Mulembe nation has for long had  leadership vacuum which has rendered the region vulnerable to political division. 

“Today we are making  a bold decision to join the revolutionary Azimio La Umoja Movement where 95% of our leaders are headed,” she said.

Lukosi added, “The Azimio train to State House captures the dreams and ambitions of delusioned young Kenyans who are yearning  for change,”.

She pointed out that Azimio promises to embolden social enterprise, create youth ventures at rural and urban level, offer equal opportunities to all and above all seal corruption loopholes which means as a nation we can have more money for development. 

“We must resist the temptation of making a political miscalculation in 2022  because of Anger yet we understand  that our journey to Canaan never materialized in 2022,” said Lukosi.

She continued, “It is important  that everyone that was part of this journey to understand the art and practice of patience and that is why l am calling on Hon Musalia and Wetang’ula to drop their anger, sober up and join this historic mission that is undoubtedly going to bare fruits,”. 

Steve Biko Wafula, Webuye West Mp Aspirant said that as the Leaders of the youth from the entire region of Western Kenya, we believe we hold the aspirations, dreams, hopes and reality of our brothers and sisters. 

“Today we speak to the whole nation of Kenya, stating that we support the ideology of Azimio La Umoja because we must stand up for our beloved country,” he said.

Biko stated that as the warriors of Mulembe Nation, they have decided to fight for a better Kenya worth Raila Amollo Odinga. We believe the youth of Western Kenya are with us and we speak on their behalf.

Biko stated that as a movement they support Odinga as the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya.

“We also request Odinga to pick a Luhya as his running mate and be guaranteed that the Nairobi Governorship be given to a Luhya candidate, same for the Nairobi Senatorial Position,” said Biko.

The movement also be guaranteed five Mp seats in Nairobi out of the 17 Constituencies, guaranteed 35 MCA seats in Nairobi out of the 85 Wards and also be given 7 Cabinet slots in your government.

“We are also requesting for at least 15 Ambassadorial positions in your government, at least 100 key parastatal appointments and also focus on the youth from the Mulembe nation on this appointments.

Biko observed that potential of the region cannot be understated. What we need is the right leadership to make us the Dubai of Kenya and we believe under the ideology of Azimio La Umoja, we can achieve this under the leadership of Odinga.

He lauded Atwoli for taking the bold step to unite and lead the Mulembe Nation in supporting the Azimio La Umoja Agenda Under the leadership of Odinga. 

“As Mulembe Youth Movement, we pledge and undertake to support this agenda to its positive conclusion.

We urge all the to turn up in great numbers for the BUKHUNGU II meeting to endorse the Azimio La Umoja agenda and stand shoulder to shoulder with Baba.

Advice Mundalo the movement Chairman called on Mulembe youths to turn up in large number and support Azimio la Umoja and the Bukhungu 2 declaration.

“We should not be left out as the Mulembe youths and they are ready to form the government together with the like-minded leaders instead of being left in the cold,” he said.

Mundalo urged Mulembe nation political leaders to support Azimio la Umoja because their hopes are anchored in the outfit.

“We want to champion our political future, no leader should stop other leaders from visiting Western region and they should be allowed to sell their agendas without any form of intimidation or threats,” he stated.
