A youthful Nairobi City County politician has announced his bid to vie for the gubernatorial seat in 2022 on Jubilee party.
Fwamba NC Fwamba who had previously announced to vie for the lucrative seat on Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) associated with Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa which also supports Azimio la Umoja will now use Jubilee party as his political vehicle.
He is likely to face off in the nominations with Dennis Waweru, Richard Ngatia and Agnes Kagure.
“Nairobi is predominantly supporters of Azimio la Umoja that is ODM led by Raila Odinga and Jubilee led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, that’s why I have chosen Jubilee party,” said Fwamba.
He continued, “I will help in breathing in the county new leadership skills I have acquired over years in developing the city,”.
Speaking to this writer, Fwamba who has his roots in Western Kenya stated that Nairobi needs a dynamic and a go-getter leader who will revamp the economy and change the fortunes of many city dwellers.
Fwamba will soon be unveiling his vision and manifesto.
“Nairobi is a cosmopolitan city which needs a youthful governor to help revamp it, I am that leader and if given the mandate by urban voters I will help change the fortunes of many residents including those staying in sprawling slums,” he said.
Fwamba added, “We need an ordinary leader whom we shall install in office and will answer to Nairobians problems rather than one who is supported by Cartels and with vested interests and only answers to them,”.
“Nairobi needs a candidate who is merely the face of a larger team where everyone can feel and be associated with him and that is Fwamba himself,” he said.
He added, “We need to build on the gains made by the Late Johnny Ibrahim and Richard Kavemba in ensuring that the leadership of Nairobi becomes the decision of ordinary Nairobi Residents, voting for FWAMBA is honoring that rich legacy,”.
He pointed out that Nairobi needs someone who understands Devolution properly and what ails it and what needs fixing.
Others who have shown their interests for the seat on different parties include Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, West Lands Mp Tim Wanyonyi among others.
